Ministries

Our ministries cover every aspect and need of family and community life. As the Bible leads, we have followed by designing and carrying out programs that work. The Comcast Television Corporation operates a Lease Access Program where individual ministries can lease time to broadcast their television shows across the United States. Originally, some of these shows were permitted to be carried live on the air. No tape was necessary, and the owners and their guests would appear live on the show. Comcast ended and closed this type of program across the United States.

When notification was given to our local Delaware group of television producers, which included our own Dr. McDuffy, by a unanimous vote they asked Dr. Louis McDuffy to write the legal complaint and document against Comcast Corporation before the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). The total 74 pages of the complaint argued in the Section on Community Interest that the Delaware Ministries, starting with this ministry, cannot be replaced by any church, city, county, or federal social services in the United States. We knew that Comcast watched numerous officials appear on our Churches of Christ Television show over the last 18 to 20 years. These high officials often honored us for the work of our ministries, such as reducing the crime rate in New Castle County to zero, contributing to the education of our youth, and the finding by Race To The Top that the state of Delaware is number one in the nation. Our former work with the Homeless and Street Prostitutes is well known. Education on Marriage and Family matters, including the mentoring of youth is well known. The helping of returning veterans and their families has contributed greatly to a current work that the country is entering into with greater frequency.

A substantial area of our state was remediated (cleaned) of pollutants and harmful poisons in our work leading a historic class action lawsuit. Comcast agreed, and advised the FCC Judge that we would remain open as Live Lease Access. They offered to provide funds to update the Studio for our benefit.
